I met Brandi when she was an event girl for Ohio Bike Week, and have known her for a while now. She recently had a Lovely Daughter Skylee, and asked if I'd take more pictures of her, and her daughter Skylee. This is only 6 months after having her baby, so she worked hard to stay in shape, and get back into this New Bikini she wanted pictures of herself in. I enjoyed the day 'cause I got to play Grandpa to Skylee, and well, Brandi is a good modeling subject so it was a great day for all of us! Enjoy!

I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing the Mad River Harley-Davidson Management Team in Sandusky on May 10th. Not gonna post any details, they are announcing today the official Grand Opening. I know what they are shooting for but will let Nicki Snyder, the Marketing and Events Manager Break the news first!

It's official! Announced today through Facebook! May 26th is the official opening day for Mad River Harley-Davidson!

The new mexican restaurant in the old Shifters building is now open and serving great Authentic Mexican food! Yes I have sampled it, and it is good! Here is the Crew that was on duty the day I was in to shoot pic's for the RidinOn Magazine.

I Love Riding to work under the Stars!

Awesome morning ride to work in 31 invigorating degree weather! Hues of pink, mauve and purple in the east bisected by steam from the Cargill plant in Huron rising vertically several hundred feed before drifting gently off to the south.

Then so many shades of blue, not even Crayola has enough names for them. Midnight blue still cloaks the sky above with Deneb fighting for dominance of the sky, losing only to the full moon as it floats brilliant, a mere 4 degrees above the horizon in it's never ending loop of tag with it's nemisis the sun.

Harley-Davidson FXRG coat, Under Armour layers and the new Heated Seat make this ride possible without the shiver quakes that would surely otherwise ruin it. The Ride is absolutely spiritual with every sense brought to the very edge of Exhiliration!

I LOVE riding in this weather!

Final Dyno Results are IN!

I have been riding this for several weeks now, and am VERY happy with the results. The investment was well worth what I have now. The HP is 105.5, The Torque is 101.6. It's LOUDER, did not expect that. And if I stay out of the throttle and do the casual SPEED LIMIT riding, I get about 40 mpg! Just barely have to give it throttle for normal casual riding.
BUT, when I roll the throttle on hard, it's GAME ON! Pegged the Speedo, it only goes to 120, and I've had the front up a couple times, carefully and tentatively!

EasyRider Motorcycle Show in Columbus Ohio

Made a quick run down on Friday night to see what was new this year. Smaller than last year as expected all things considered!

Instantly ran into Mike Ballard, owner of Full Throttle Saloon of Sturgis S.D., he and Angie Land are coming to Sandusky, Ohio for Ohio Bike Week!

Took me an HOUR to drive 18 miles at 4 am this morning, this is what it looked like still at 2 pm on the way home!

My First Bike....

My first bike was a red Schwinn I got for Christmas when I was 7. I took really good care of it.

My next bike was a Harley!

And remarkably enough, it was the same color!

Who Knew Dining Heaven was SO CLOSE TO HOME!

My bad day Salvaged by Red Gables Mesquite Grill in Sandusky!

I needed a pick me up for a very bad day, and decided a Great Steak would do just that! I drove past Several local chain restaurants and remembered something I had been told about this place on Cleveland Road on the way out of town!

I pulled into Red Gables Mesquite Grill and thought the place was closed, but noticed the "Open" light was on, so I walked in the door to check.

I was greeted by Jamie Pribanic, Owner and Chef. I told him I wanted to look at the menu and would be back another time, an excuse I confess to check out the prices. After perusing the menu and talking to Jamie about most of the items, I was very impressed with his knowledge of both beef and Salmon,(my personal favorite) and his commitment to offering the BEST steak and seafood in the area! So much so that he is backing it up with a guarantee!

Jamie's daughter Athena (YES, appropriately named after the Goddess!) waited on me, I ordered the New York Strip Steak done Med Rare, baked potato and salad w/Celery Seed dressing made my Jamie himself.

The bread that was brought out was warm and tasty enough to be a meal in itself! The salad was a work of art and with olives, cherry tomatoes, sweet pepper slices, onion, croutons so fresh they did not shatter and you could actually stick a fork through them, and a perfect mix of greens. It kept me busy and happy while I waited on the steak!

The steak came out rubbed with a special pepper rub, again made by Jamie, and cooked to perfection! This is where I lack for words. After eating at Taco Bell or McDonalds you can't wait to have a mint, or brush your teeth! However, the after taste of this most excellent steak graciously lingers, and I find myself reluctant to do anything that might remove it!

I had the pleasure of meeting Jamie's son also, Joshua B. Pribanic, Executive Director of "The Erie Wire" an Online newspaper. Josh took a good close look at my Nikon D300 as we discussed camera's and photography, adding to my enjoyment of this dining experience!

Ok, you can waste your time and gas driving to Cleveland, or waste your dollars and High Volume Chain Steakhouses, but for only Two to Four dollars more than those places, you get a PERFECT Steak, Perfectly prepared, and all while enjoying the company of Jamie, Athena, and maybe you'll get lucky and meet son Josh too!

December 14 Riding Weather in Ohio!

Came home from work and the thermometer said 51 Degrees! Yep, time to roll over the fluids in the Harley and take her for about a 40 mile ride! Ran errands, looped around Norwalk on some of my favorite twisty roads. This video was shot on Ridge Road heading straight south of Norwalk. Very scenic and enjoyable ride!

Then stopped and had dinner with mom and then to Moose to say HI to the gang! Was just starting to mist when I put her away!

This is why I love Ohio! Wait 20 minutes and the weather will change!

Bittersweet Day, Huron River HOG last event, Close out Potluck and Awards Day.

Yea, I see how ya are Julie and Lisa!
That's why I love this bunch!

Bitter because it's the last event of this Chapter, and sweet because I was awarded this.... I was TOTALLY Blown away and surprised by this! My brother told me I was mentioned at the last meeting, but you know, there are just so may members that work so hard all year to make all the events happen!

And after having all day to enjoy this and ponder this, I finally realized that the reason it comes as such a surprise to me, is because I just enjoyed going to all the events, Documenting as much as I could, and ENJOYED this crowd of people and had so much fun doing it all that it JUST DID NOT FEEL LIKE WORK!

Labor Day Ride, the Triple Nickel! Rt. 555!

Took off Friday evening about 6 pm, goal was to ride all secondary roads to Marietta, Oh. Stay at the Lafayette Hotel on the River, up early and then ride the Triple Nickel back to Zanesville and then Rt. 60 home.

Plans change! Will post the details here soon!

Ok, decided at work I was NOT gonna waste a perfectly good weekend of riding weather, after all, this is OHIO and the weather changes by the MINUTE! I rushed right home after work and packed up, made a few stops on the way out of town and pulled out of Norwalk 6 pm sharp! Planned on doing St. Rt. 60 from Ashland to Marietta, but when I got to Rt. 224, I remembered I'd ridden 60 to Loudonville quite a bit lately. SO, too Rt. 13 all the way to Historical Rt. 40 and was gonna grab Rt. 60 at Zanesville. Pulled over there to put cold gear on, yea, them holllers and valleys get cool after dark (9:30 PM by then) A local and fellow rider walking by asked where I was headed. He was adamant Rt. 60 was very unsafe for rider's after dark due to an early Deer run this year, said they are everywhere after dark! So I took Rt. 40 22 miles over to 77 and shot 41 miles to Marietta. Was in my room by 10:50 pm.


Had a GREAT Pizza there, and while I waited for it in the bar met a great bunch of guys there for a wedding. A guy named Johnson sitting right on the corner with me actually went to Appalachian Univ. in Mars Hill N.C., which is my favorite place in the world! Talked allot and exchanged business cards! He's gonna check out my pictures on the web when he gets back to Upstate N.Y.

Anyway, up early and on the road by 8:45, ok, maybe not so early, but hit the Triple Nickel by 9:00 AM and 222 miles on the trip O.D., made it about 20 miles when I felt a "Snap" as I clutched, got instantly sick in the stomach, about 10 to 15 shifts later the big snap! YEP! On the Nickel with NO clutch cable! Rode about another 10 miles shifting without the clutch until I hit a little berg called Chesterhill at Rt. 377. Had to hit the KILL switch as it was a blind intersection at a main highway, and I had NO IDEA which direction to the nearest H.D. Dealership, and did NOT want to ride further from my S.O.S. repair center. Of course there was NO cell service, but a very nice local invited me to use his phone, and after calling 3 dealers found one in Zanesville with the part I needed. He said the truck was out, and he'd call back when it came in to find out where I was and that I was about an HOUR away from them! did the math, and that would make it a VERY LONG WAIT AND DAY AND TOTAL DOWN TIME FOR THIS BREAK! So, told the man when they called back to tell them I was gonna limp it there!

Yes, I had to PUSH it up that hill to get it all the way off the road!

I worked it up to the intersection in gear on the starter, then when clear put in 2nd gear and pulled out using starter and hit the throttle about 1/4 of the way and after neck snapping jerks it started and I was ON THE ROAD again! Rode quite a way to Rt. 78 and on a major downhill slope hit the kill switch again and flagged down the big truck that had been following me for directions to Zanesville. The checked and had Cell service, so called Fink's H.D. for detailed instrucions how to get there, was still about 30 miles out. So got up 78 to Rt. 60!, through 2 lighted intersections without having to hit the kill switch, and rode the wonderful scenic Rt. 60 all the way to the first light in Zanesville, where I had to turn left, yea, right! Light DID NOT cooperate this time and in a 5 lane intersection did not want to sit in the middle trying to start in gear, so went left of center into the oncoming lane, down the birm and turned through the intersection w/flashers on and everyone looking at me like F***ing Bikers think they own the road! Made it to within eyesight of the dealer and was such a busy intersection, picture Sandusky at the mall! So two guys say me trying to get it started and into the intersection and ran over to help, with a little push at the right time got that baby down to the dealershiip!

Anyway, Fink's H.D. was GREAT! Fast and efficient! Walked across the street for some food while I waited and spent the usual on T-shirts for friends and such. Got back on the road at 2:55 pm with 295 miles on the Trip odometer. Grabbed Rt. 60 and rode it to 224 to 13 to HOME! I was home by 6 pm with 428 miles on the trip od. for this impromptu road trip! Home in time to unload, and hit Milan Melon Festival for Jim's Pizza Box TACO'S!!! Bought a total of over 36 taco's, about a third of those are in my fridge for the lunches the rest of the week!
